Invisible Children

February 16, 2008

Invisible Children is on the road again! We got to meet a new crew, actually two new crews, from IC. I went with them to do a screening at Mountain View High School on Thursday, it was tight. I got to see first hand the reaction of high school students wanting to be a part of something greater than themselves.ic-and-me.jpg

My wife and I have been involved with IC for about a year and a half now. We love being able to offer up our house for the roadies whenever we can. I love telling high school students about the ic roadies, mt. view estudiantes, and meorganization and seeing them latch onto the concept. The more I see how IC works, the more I meet their people, the more I see how the org. is run, the more I love this organization. It starts at the top with the 3 adventurers that founded IC, Jason, Bobby, and Laren. I myself have never met these guys, but since we’ve met about 20 different roadies and had time to talk with them we have heard some good things. The roadies are incredible people who basically work 20 hour days for no pay. Actually they get paid a ton, just not monetarily. (their pay is worth much more than the mighty dollar) These young people give their time, energy, and life to spread a deep conviction that they have. They live on something like $50 a week. It is truly incredible. If you ever have a chance to hang out with one of them I highly suggest it. You will be moved.

Here is a picture of me with  3 roadies, and 3 high school students who headed up the screening at Mt. View. We had a ton of fun that night and I told them the creepiest story ever known to man. (ask me about it next time you see me)
